UTR (Universal Tennis Ratings) is a universal rating system for comparing tennis players around the world. It provides a common standard for all age groups, no matter the origin or gender. Every tennis player has a rating between 1 and 16 - the higher the better.

UTR (Universal Tennis Ratings) ist ein universelles Bewertungssystem zum Vergleich von Tennisspielern auf der ganzen Welt. Es bietet einen einheitlichen Standard für alle Altersgruppen. Die Herkunft und das Geschlecht spielt dabei keine Rolle, da alle Tennisspieler auf der gleichen Skala von 1 bis 16 ein Rating haben - je höher desto besser.

UTR is calculated by an algorithm using a player's last 30 eligible match scores from the last 12 months.
After as little as two UTR verified matches, the algorithm predicts your level highly accurate based on the results.

Most national tournaments in Europe are not certified (exceptions exist).

COLLEGE TENNIS x UTR

In the USA, all college matches are UTR-verified and therefore every player there automatically has a Universal Tennis Rating. For college coaches, the UTR is one of the most important criteria when evaluating future players. By participating in the Showcase, you will receive a verified UTR, which you can use to show your level to the coaches.

In den USA sind alle College-Matches UTR-verifiziert und somit hat jeder Spieler dort automatisch ein Universal Tennis Rating. Für College Trainier ist das UTR somit eines der wichtigsten Kriterien bei der Beurteilung künftiger Spieler. Tournament Format

The tournaments are played throughout eight days from Sunday to Sunday. Qualifying matches will take place on the first Sunday, the group stage from Monday to Friday, and the knockout matches on Saturday and Sunday. Tournaments with 20 participants consists of 16 Direct Acceptances and 4 Wildcards.

Spielsystem

Die Turniere werden in acht Tagen von Sonntag bis Sonntag ausgetragen. Qualifikationsspiele finden am ersten Sonntag statt, die Gruppenphase von Montag bis Freitag und die K.O. Spiele am Samstag und Sonntag. Bei 20 Teilnehmern besteht das Feld aus 16 Direktannahmen und 4 Wildcards.

Participation

Male players must have a UTR of at least 12.5 and be outside the top 200 PTT ranking. Women must have a minimum UTR of 9.7 and be outside the top 200 PTT ranking.

Players ranked 1-200 or outside the top 2000 will only be accepted with a wild card approved by UTR.

Teilnahmeberechtigung

Männliche Spieler müssen eine UTR von mindestens 12,5 haben und außerhalb der Top 200 PTT-Rangliste sein. Frauen müssen eine UTR von mindestens 9,7 haben und außerhalb der Top 200 PTT-Rangliste liegen.

Spieler, die auf den Plätzen 1-200 oder außerhalb der Top 2000 rangieren, werden nur mit einer von der UTR genehmigten Wildcard zugelassen.

Group Stage

The 20 participants will be divided into 4 groups of 5 players each. Round-robin group stages will run from Monday to Friday with one off-day per player. All matches will be best of 3 tie break sets with regular scoring.

Gruppenphase

Die 20 Teilnehmern werden in 4 Gruppen mit je 5 Spielern aufgeteilt. Jeder Spieler hat von Montag bis Freitag vier Spiele sowie einen Ruhetag. Alle Spiele werden in 3 Tie-Break-Sätzen mit regulärer Wertung ausgetragen.

Play-Offs

The Playoff Rounds will be single elimination and consist of five draws of 4 players depending on the player’s group finishing (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th) and will run from Saturday to Sunday. All matches will be best of 3 tie break sets with regular scoring.

Platzierungsspiele

Nach der Gruppenphase werden fünf Felder mit jeweils vier Spielern basierend auf der Gruppenplatzierung erstellt. Diese Spiele finden am Samstag und Sonntag statt und werden wie in der Gruppenphase in drei Tie-Break Sätzen mit regulärer Wertung ausgetragen.
