In the beginning, you have a preseason with more practice times and matches against non-conference teams to prepare for league play. After the regular season, in which you can have up to three matches a week, the champion is determined via a play-off styled tournament. The winners advance to the regional and later on to the national championship tournament, that poentially lasts deep into May and even June.
