Tournament Play
- The format will consist of a group stage, with matches against players of similiar level.
- All UTR verified matches are best out of three regular sets, no-add scoring, and a deciding 10-point tie-break. These matches will count for your Universal Tennis Rating, but not towards your national ranking
- The practice set is one regular set with no-add scoring and a deciding 7-point tie-break at 6:6. It is not UTR verified.
- In case of rain or other circumstances, the format might change.
- During the showcase, you will play 3 verified UTR matches, as well as a practice set.
- Players of the Showcase Wildcard Tournament will each have three UTR verified singles matches.
- The number of matches only apply for players that participate on all three days of the event.
- In case of rain or other circumstances, the number of matches might change.
Matches will be against players of similar level, based on national ranking, national performance level, and our personal experience. The goal is to create even matchups to give you the best chance to showcase yourself.
Due to the nature of tennis, we cannot promise you that you will win a match, nor that you will lose one. In the past, there have been players who have lost all their matches, but there have also been players who have won all their matches.
Please keep in mind, that Coaches look for more than just the score or your strokes, but also care a lot about your on-court behavior and how you compete during a loss.
The UTR (Universal Tennis Ratings) is a universal rating system for comparing tennis players around the world. Every tennis player receives a rating between 1 and 16, the higher the better.
In the USA all college matches are UTR verified and therefore every player automatically gets a Universal Tennis Rating. College Coaches often use the UTR to compare current players with prospects to evaluate the level.
UTR is official partner of the Keystone Sports College Tennis Showcase.
